MFS

In Brief

MFS MFS determines some of the most decisive characteristics of a filament simultaneously, using only one sensor for each thread line.

Features

  • Real time monitoring of:
    • spin finish
    • interlace
    • denier
    • evenness
    • thin and thick places
    • broken filament
    • yarn breaks and yarn defects
  • Developed in cooperation with PACE/USA

In Detail

  • Measuring principle:
    • Non contact optical technology for determination of interlace, denier, evenness, broken filaments, yarn breaks and yarn defects employing line scan camera technology with 32 bit DSP.
    • Conductive for determination of spin finish
  • Measuring ranges:
    • Spin finish: 0.10 – 2% FOY (depends on conductivity of spin finish), resolution < 0.05 %
    • Interlace: 0 to 300 nodes/meter, resolution 0.1 node/meter
    • Denier: 10 to 8,000 denier
    • Yarn break detection 10 to 10,000 denier
    • Yarn defects: slubs, drips, thin spots with > 5 % variation broken filaments with min. 1 denier
    • Diameter: 10 to 4,000 microns, resolution < 1 micron
    • Yarn speeds: 60 to 10,000 m/min
  • Sampling rates:
    • Spin finish: > 20,000 measurements/sec (20 kHz)
    • Interlace, Denier: 10,000 measurements/sec (10 kHz) *)
    • Broken filaments: 10,000 measurements/sec (10 kHz) *)
    • Yarn breaks: <10 ms response time (typical)
    • Spin finish pins: ceramic, conductive coated, easy and fast exchangeable
    • *) MFS for monofilaments provides up to 32,500 measurements/sec (32 kHz)
